So recently I went to District 4-H Horse Show with Kalli, we did awesome! Just so you all know, Kalli is a Palomino Quarter Pony I rescued three years ago from a saleyards here in Kentucky. Since then she has been my baby, I love this mare to death, she's my life. But anyway, on with the show.
We got there and Kalli has been learning how to turn on the haunches for Showmanship. We went in and I thought we had a perfect round. But we ended up coming with third out of seventeen with a blue danish which was still absolutely amazing. But I had to disagree with the judge, the two girls that got first and second put the cone inbetween themselves and the horse, which is a wrong thing to do in Showmanship, you should never do it. But hey, I'm still happy on how well we did.
Next came our Limit Horse/Pony 2'6". Kalli did pretty well considering there was only two ponies in the class out of eight horses, ten in the class. She was lacking a little speed but we got fourth out of ten with a blue danish, which was very well considering the whole class was horses.
Next came Equitation 2-2'3" Over Fences. I absolutely love this class, mainly because I love doing rollbacks. Kalli did awesome, but coming around through our figure eight of diagnol lines Kalli broke to a trot, but my trainer said it was fine and wouldn't count against me because it showed the judge that I could handle anything that came my way and that it didn't affect the rest of my course and I could still go on and finish strong. So there was ten in that class also and we got second place! Yay! With a blue danish of course. All thanks to my trainer who told me a little secret to do at the end of an Equitation course.
Last was Pony Hunter Under Saddle. There was only three ponies in the class, and we got second with a blue danish. We would have placed first but we were a little speedy at the canter.

we got Reserve High Point!! I was so freakin' excited. And I still am. I got a gigantic ribbon, and a Bridle Bag with District 4 Reserve High Point on it with a 4-H emblem.
So we stayed after because we are on the District Show Team and have to stay after and help, it was really fun. We got to stay the whole weekend, which was quite interesting to learn about Contest and the Walking/Racking/Mountain division.
